THE GOAL
“DON’T YOU WORRY CHILD” is a 2012 Grammy-nominated, chart-topping progressive house anthem by Swedish House Mafia featuring vocalist John Martin. Through the assignment for my university, we depicted the beauty of this song, which is universal and open to different interpretations based on our life experiences.
THE CONCEPT
With the lyrics of the song, we could freely interpret our own storytelling. We built a story about a son who used to have a happy childhood with his dad. But as time went by, his dad passed away.

THE CHALLENGE
After the script was locked, we moved on to the storyboard and visual development, including character design and styleframes. My team took care of most of the illustration parts, while a few other members and I primarily focused on the animation and motion graphics.
THE POST-MORTEM
This was the first time I experienced After Effects specifically and motion graphics in general, so looking back, while my technical skill has advanced far, this was the initial project that gave me a fundamental push because I learned a lot in the process - not only just technical skills but also about the pipeline of making a motion graphic/animated video.
